History
(Baltimore: I. Munroe) The Baltimore Patriot & Mercantile Advertiser began publication May 1, 1817 [v. 9, no. 100] and ceased March 31, 1838 [v. 49, no. 78]. It was published daily, except Sunday. It was also published as the Baltimore Patriot and Mercantile Advertiser and the Baltimore Patriot. Other editions include the Baltimore Patriot and Mercantile Advertiser (Baltimore: 1817). The newspaper continues the Baltimore Patriot & Evening Advertiser (Baltimore: 1813) and merged with the Baltimore Gazette and Daily Advertiser (Baltimore: 1825) to form the Baltimore Patriot & Commercial Gazette (Baltimore: 1838). Archives' collection includes issue for January 2, 1828 (MSA SC 4098).
