The Cecil Democrat began publication in 1842 and ceased in 1845[?]. It was published weekly. Title history based on July 23, 1842 [v. 1, no. 11]. The newspaper continues the Cecil Gazette, and Farmers' and Mechanics' Advertiser (Elkton: 1834) and was continued by the Cecil Democrat, and Farmers' Journal (Elkton: 1836).
