The Worcester County Shield, and Spirit of the Whig Press began publication in 1847 and ceased in 1855. It was published weekly. Title history based on September 28, 1847 [v. 2, no. 39]. The newspaper continues the Worcester Shield, and Spirit of the Whig Press (Snow Hill: 1846) and was continued by the Worcester County Shield (Snow Hill: 1855).
