Newspaper, Times Crescent
History
(La Plata, Charles County: La Plata Pub. Co.) The Times Crescent began publication in January 1898 and ceased March 24, 1966 [v. 121, no. 51]. It was published weekly. Title history based on February 11, 1898 [v. 1, no. 4]. It was published as The Times-Crescent, November 4, 1927-February 14, 1957 and February 28, 1963-1966. The newspaper was formed by the union of the Port Tobacco Times, and Charles County Advertiser (Port Tobacco: 1845) and the Crescent (La Plata: 1893) and merged with the Charles County Leaf (La Plata: 1959) to form the Times-Crescent the Charles County Leaf (La Plata: 1966).
