Montgomery Independent-Standard Collection

The Montgomery Independent-Standard began publication October 1, 1946 [v. 21, no. 1] and ceased in August 1947. It was published daily, except Saturday. It was also published as the Montgomery Independent Standard. The newspaper was formed by the union of the Montgomery Independent (Rockville: 1927) and the Silver Spring Standard (Silver Spring: 1937) and was absorbed by the Bethesda Journal (Bethesda: 1939).
