This collection consists of research projects managed and edited by the former State Archivist Dr. Edward C. Papenfuse and the research staff of the Maryland State Archives. Each series pertains to a specific project or line of inquiry. Many of the series relate to book publications, exhibitions, research inquries, digitization projects, biographical research, legal case histories, cartographic studies, and summer internship projects. There are cross-references to other special collections and government records at the Maryland State Archives. While many of the entries represent completed projects, portions are also uncompleted projects-in-progress.
