There are books on poetry, art, and songs that illustrate the African-American experience in Annapolis and in the United States from slavery, motherhood, and the struggle against prejudice and inequality. The research documents include research into the life and experiences of African-American slaves in the U.S., genealogy research on several families including the Carroll family, the Darnall family and their slaves who include Ann Joice, Rose Davis and Polly Bentley. The photographs probably depict a 1999 production of "Dreams of My Soul" and included Larry Griffin, drummer and Scotti Preston, actress performing at the Charles Carroll House. The play scripts, some of which are written by Valerio, are some of the performances staged at the Carroll house around the years 1998-2000. The brochures and newspaper articles provide information on the various performances staged at the Carroll House. |
