U.S. Naval ensign (flag) from the USS Maryland (BB-46) during World War II, from the family of Rear Admiral Herbert James Ray, commander of the USS Maryland, 1943-1944. Rear Adm. Ray graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in the class of 1914.
