| Collection of letters written to Mary Edith White Andrew, (b. 02-12-1891, d. 10-06-1986) between 1925 and 1927. These letters were written in response to a letter she wrote published in Comfort magazine, as well as in the Home Circle magazine, describing her life on Knightly Farm in Talbot County, Md. Many of the letters written to Mrs. Andrew describe the everyday lives of their authors. Children, farmlife, fishing and the local climate are among the subjects featured in many of the letters sent to Mrs. Andrew. The Collection consists of letters from twenty-six states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Andrew taught school in Oxford, Md. Her husband, Herbert L. Andrew Sr. (b. 01-29-1889, d. 10-10-1963) was a farmer; he also served as a County Commissioner for Talbot County from 1942 to 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew lived on Knightly Farm from 1914 until 1963.
