IN PROCESSING - Funeral records from the Hardesty Funeral Home and the Hopping Funeral Home from the beginning of their businesses to their closure in January 2026. Thomas A Hardesty of Galesville, Anne Arundel County established the business in 1911. Three generations of Hardesty family members operated the business which opened locations in Annapolis and Gambrills in the late twentieth century.

The Hardestys served the entire community: the business was the first integrated funeral home in Maryland.
