| IN PROCESSING -- Digitization project to make a collection of photographs, videos, and memorabilia from Cloverdale Athletic Club and Basketball Association, Inc. (Cloverdale AC/BBA, Inc.) accessible to the public. Cloverdale AC/BBA, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that promotes a positive role model for youth in athletics in the Sandtown and Winchester areas of West Baltimore. |
| In 1957 a group of 5 men (Bill Harris, Dennis Talbot, James Oscar Davis, Boysie Hux, and Leonard Covington) searched for a location to establish a competitive basketball league for youth in West Baltimore. In 1958, they founded a club, Cloverdale Summer Basketball League. Their league and organization has thrived to become Cloverdale AC/BBA. It supports the Sandtown and Winchester areas of West Baltimore community as a whole, through its outreach and festivals. Their Donors to this collection include a founding member of the club, William H. Harris and longtime club member Dr. Warren Hayman. |
