Bunn's mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Bunn worked at Crownsville State Hospital as a nurse in the patient wards. Bunn's father, Doyet "Jack" Bunn worked at Crownsville State Hospital as special police patrolling the grounds. Bunn's aunt, Dorothy Bunn, worked at Crownsville State Hospital as well. Description
Video oral history interview with Cynthia Carter conducted by Michael Matthews. Carter was the first African American woman elected to the Annapolis City Council. Carter began working as an attendant at Crownsville State Hospital in 1957 at 17 years old. Carter's mother, Beatrice Abney, went through the LPN program at Crownsville State Hospital and was licensed in 1952. Carter's brother, Reid Abney, began working at Crownsville State Hospital in 1956.
