Handwritten letter (retained copy) William Smallwood to John Sterrett, Snow Hill, MD, 14 March 1777. 1-page, 8"x12".

Summary: Smallwood expresses anger that the soldiers in Sterrett’s Baltimore militia company would not comply with his orders to provide a fifer and drummer for Smallwood’s campaign against the Eastern Shore Loyalists; he will write to the General Assembly about it; disappointed in the conduct of Lt. George Campbell.
