Description
Sit-in at Northwood Theatre.
Afro coverage indicates that Sherman Merrill was arrested (possibly others?). See also "The Integration of Northwood Theater, 1955-1963," by Mayumi Sakoh, ecpclio 5339-176-13.
There are no NE District police dockets from 1955 at MSA. Unable to locate any trial of Merrill in BC Criminal Court; Sakoh paper says he was aquitted in mid-June, 1955 in Criminal Court, but he is not listed in the docket index.
